Interactive Learning

This method uses the SDI Interactive CDrom to teach you the theory of diving. With this method you will receive a CDrom to take home and go over at your own pace. (Mac/PC/Linux compatible) The CD uses a combination of video, animations, text and sound to effectively present the information that you need to learn, in a format you can remember. During the process, the CD will give you multiple choice questions, and if you incorrectly answer the questions, the software will take you back and recap the section you didn't understand. Following this you will be asked new questions on that section to make sure you understand what you have learnt. There are also knowledge reviews that the CD will ask you to complete and print out as you go. 

On the first day of the course you hand in your completed knowledge reviews to your Instructor, who will make sure you have understood everything in them. Following this you will complete your final multiple choice exam.
After this final classroom session (around an hour) all of your classroom work is complete.
Also, the SDI system teaches you to plan your dives using a dive computer and also teaches the use of tables (like the Recreational Dive Planner) as a back-up. Using dive computers to plan and execute your dives is far easier and much more flexible, as well as being considered the safest method of dive planning available today.

Once you have completed your open water dives, you will be certified to dive to 18m anywhere in the world!
