The Padi Book & Video Method
Traditional Learning
With this method, we will teach you to dive using the PADI book and video method of learning.
When you sign up for the course you will be given a DVD to watch, and a book to read and complete “Knowledge Reviews”. This method is useful for people who can focus and study from a book and don’t feel comfortable using a computer.
On the first day of the course we will review your answers from the knowledge reviews before any in water activities. Anything you don’t understand will be re-capped by your instructor this process takes between 2 and 3 hours.
This method also requires you to complete 4 quiz’s containing 10 multiple choice questions. Two of these you will complete on the first day and two on the second day. You must also complete a 50 question final exam before the end of your course.
The PADI system will teach you to use the RDP (Recreational Dive Planner) when planning your dives. This system is tried and tested and was developed prior to dive computers.
Once you have completed your open water dives, you will be certified to dive to 18m anywhere in the world!
